TEACHER.......darling....

Dear Diary and Margo,
( Did you ever see..........Fiddler on the Roof? ) .Margo, I soooo enjoyed seeing you on chat.....sorry I kept getting booted and also called "illegal" so eventually I just gave up.
There are some really nice people there.......incidentaly, I must tell you, the other day I saw my ex- English teacher from school days.......she of the withered brow and wrinkled hands......
she said to me...... "Beverly Gaye! what have you been doing to yourself?" me....huh? (feeling 16 again)
"Now, I want to know, have you done anything useful with that talent?" me....huh? ....."I...um...I...um"
"Yes, I thought so, wasted your whole life, my dear if only you had not left us so soon, I would have MADE something of you!"
me...."Good afternoon Mrs Isenberg..I.."
"Always ready with an excuse I see....not changed at all!!" "Do you have a husband?" she said. me......
"Yes mam".....I...
"Yes, yes, now tell me, are you the achiever that I would have hoped? I certainly hope you married into the faith? do not let me find out the contrary .You and Leslie were my best students and blah blah blah".....
Whereupon, I took a deep breath..........
"SHUT UP! Mrs Isenberg."......
she did...most astonished......looked at me, started laughing and grabbing me around the neck (she being shorter than I) kissed me on the cheek......
"I knew it! not lost that cheeky spirit I see."
We then proceded to a coffee shop of some note, and yakked the whole afternoon away.................the point of this tale? I'm nearly 50 and she remembered everything about me, it was just like being back at school....was a gorgeous lady...widowed now, and spritely as hell.

Another tale? Some years back, whilst recovering in hospital, my husband was sittting on the bed next to me, and the door opened, an elderly lady popped her head in, seeing my husband, she cried.....
"Eaden Young!"
He looked up .....she came right up to him and said,
"Are you still the naughtiest boy in school?"
We burst into laughter.....and she realising that it was rather funny, grinned and said to me......
"He was the most adorable child I ever taught!"
The point........I don't know.....you being a teacher, I just wonder if you ever find true reward? I been thinkin' of you teach...and I wondered why you teach where you do? Yet ,I know you must make a difference in some of the childrens' lives........we all touch people lives in some way....even if we do not realise it.

There is a rather funny South African expression, which obviously cannot mean as much to you, but it tends to say a lot...... like this............"vysbyte".............direct translation is...."bitehard".........but it has a different sort of meaning.....kind of like....hold on...have strength........odd hey? I wish there was a point to this whole letter.......rambling now.....shall have to retire to the bed........... sweet dreams................did you like the trip around S.A.?
love,
bev....
ps. perhaps you would like to assist in the editing of the book? Will check with Maianna..........its gonna be an odd book........shalom and hugs xoxoxo
