MORBID THOUGHTS.........err not always.........

This truth commission thingy, is really getting to me...........'member when I wrote about it last year??
Please be rest-assured, that this Truth Commission etc, is actually only making us famous..........I did tell you what I thought about the revenge? that these people are looking for....there is no such thing...everybody willing to testify, has been granted amnesty in advance. Naturally there had to be a bomb scare, no gathering would be complete without same. What makes me more morbid is that it is also the rememberence time for the Holocaust................ Whats makes me cry, is the memory of the friends that I lost, in the "struggle" That Nelson Mandela, who I admire greatly, is not called to say sorry for all the people he maimed and hurt, when he was busy throwing bombs! We are all just find, the hotels making a packet, and the fruit and food vendors selling up a storm!
I have an interesting project at hand at the moment, I have to research the origional founder of the newspaper that I write for....he was a black man, and started the paper more than 100 yrs ago......great fun. South Africa, will always be in the news, everybody feels guilty for some reason or other about the blacks, one has to live here to appreciate what life is like here. I still say the same thing, do the Americans, Australians, or New Zealanders feel guilty about what they did to their indigenous peoples?.......go to Germany or Russia, see if any old people living there, say they saw anything, even when they lived next to the camps. You must also remember one thing, we/me and my age group, were not part of the beginning....we just grew up unquestioning.........I used to ask questions, I was brought up by an elderly Jewish grandfather and a black nanny. You have a very strong Afrikaans, people, who are part German, part Dutch.....they are the force that were in-power for 45 years. or so. Despite all of this, we, the "English Speaking" people, were very much in the minority.....we could not even sustain a political power........the "United Party" as we were called, the liberals, were outvoted..... I love Africa. I am an African. I know more about them, than they will ever care to know about me. I speak more of their languages, than they would even try to speak mine. I understand, their pain, their way of life, I just thank God that I am not black.
I never intend leaving here, I will die here, I have paid more in taxes, more in blood, than they will ever do..........I find black people more predjudice against White, than in the reverse. I have servants, sure, they are black, what else? there are 40 million of them here. They are very well paid, very well fed, and very well housed. George, my gardener, has been with me for 15 years. Tina, is new. I don't want to be their friend, I am their employer. Despite this, I can tell you anything you want to know about their families, their homes etc. They eat what I eat. There is no difference. One must understand, one thing, our Xhosa tribe, our blacks generally, are a fun loving, "family" people. Full of traditions, cultures, and are great ......preformers. They love the press......they love a good show, their emotions are very near the surface. Unlike Whites, they stick together..........one says. "STRIKE!" boy, down go the tools.
This truth commission, has brought out more designer outfits, than you would see in New York! I'm not being ugly, just telling as it is. This weekly column, that I write....I do not get paid for it! My payment, is donated to the Nelson Mandela fund for children. The paper is a black newspaper.....now run by a huge White company, but geared as an educational tool for blacks. I "give away", advice, free of charge, fees that would buy me a new car, not because I feel guilty, but because I am such an interfering bitch, that I want to mother everybody and teach at the same time! I have a black name.......nomlontsi.....it means busy bird with grasshopper feet.......I was named that as a child!!!! Do you know, that the "passport" was not a tool invented by the Whites? in my research of Africa, (and I have been to many many places here), they used to carry small masks, as they passed through each "country", they had to produce this mask, and get it notched. Someitmes, if the "border guards" were not kosher, then the visitor had to pay a fine! It might have been in the form of an animal, skins, or food. Prior to this new government, all hospitalization, was free upto the most expensive surgery for all blacks, not for whites! Now, we have a different system. Free, for mothers and children up to six. Structured for the rest..........Blacks, never paid any tax! My clients in the Transkei, who are among the richest I have ever come across, are now bitching 'cos they have to pay tax!
My elder son, who is a teacher at a black school, is so poorly paid, that we have to subsidise his income. He just loves it there. The school is for the deaf and blind. It has been there for 85 years!!!!!! I think that a greater part of the White S.A.'s, have a lot of time and respect for "our" people, maybe I have been fortunate enough to only come across really nice people? who knows?. We don't shut our eyes to the ugliness.......its everywhere..........but it is not a perfect world. Thank you all, for your concern. Like in any country, there are the terrible things that happen, like the incident of those tourists, who were gang raped and beaten, not far from here. But 'm dears, if they had listened to advice, they would not have been on that particular road at that time of day. Who of you have travelled in ....Italy? and been warned about the thieves and muggers? My sons, were held up at gunpoint in Holland, recently, by 5 armed Blacks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! their comment? "shit mom, did they follow us?" Personally, I do not care, what colour a person is, if he is as intelligent as I am, can play bridge and carry a conversation, eat as many chocolates as I do......then they're my kind of person!
Would help if they liked my French thingy toooooooo. I brought my kids up with one thing that I used to say to them.....I hate stupidity and dirt...........but then, I did not attend the school for parenthood....so what did I know? *kisses* to you all.
Screech!!!!!!!!!!! you know what I hate the most about the T.R.C ??? its the excuses!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember the Germans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
