When did sponsorship and wings arrive in F1?

Things that are common to most of us, are sponsorship and wings on F1 cars. However, it only arrived 18 years after the sport started in 1950.

The 1968 season was overshadowed by the death of Jim Clark. Clark died during a Formula Two race at Hockenheim in German.

When did Tyrrell dominate F1?

You will find it hard to believe that Tyrrell dominated Formula One in 1971. Jack Stewart was the team's number one driver. He finished the season 29 points ahead of his closest rival, Ronnie Peterson.

The Ford powered team earned 73 points compared to BRM's 36 points. The Tyrrell name will disappear from the Formula One scene in 1999 when BAR changes the name.

Niki Lauda's accident.

Former Formula One world champion and advisor for the Ferrari team, Niki Lauda, was involved in a serious accident in 1976. When you look at Lauda today, you can still see the marks on his face.

The disaster struck Lauda during the German grand prix when he crashed heavily. He was badly burned.
