The intention of this page is as simple as the background: to build up the body of Christ by Bible study. The idea of having various themes listed is to get our minds into action and our hearts on fire for the Lord. The symbol of the wall can already be used as an illustration. Have you ever taken a look at a newly painted wall and then looked again a season or two later and seen how quickly it can weather. The same holds for our faith - one whitewash when we are saved will not hold, we need to be constantly built up and the ruts and erosion that creep in need to be constantly repaired.

It is in Bible study that we are armed to fight the good fight:
Ephesians 6:17 "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"
It is a sad day when those who have experienced the Spirit's guidance, loose in battle because their weapon ("the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God") has not been developed and sharpened.

Theme 1 - Do you know God ?

Have a look at the creation story in Genesis and consider the following:

This theme is very simple in appearance, yet maybe we need to take a close look at the God we think we know. A very interesting question is often asked in various biblical learning institutions:
"If God is so great, can He make a stone so big that even He cannot move ?"
In your next bible study ask this little question and see the conversation go around in circles and quite often we see some very passionate opinions about this little question.
There is really no right or wrong answers to this one, but it does get people thinking.
One line of thought is that God would never do this because it would make no sense at all and that is not His nature.
Another way of looking at it is that He has already done this very thing. He has made man and given man an irreversible power of free choice, yet always remember that He has also done the impossible by giving man the option of taking Jesus as a saviour, but even saying that he cannot reverse the choice that individuals may make.
Interesting - maybe, but a really challenging question to consider, which only highlights our lack of understanding of the really great nature of God. It also gives us a possible understanding of what it was that God did when He created man in His own image.

More to follow when time allows ...
