Dorpshuis Guest Accommodation is situated in De Aar, the main town of the Upper Karoo. It is half an hour's drive from Hanover (N1) or Britstown (N12). It is an ideal stopover on the following two routes:
-
Halfway between Port Elizabeth and Upington / Kalahari on the N10 to Namibia.
-
N1 North-South: Turn off the N1 at Bloemfontein on the N8 -Kimberley , off the N8 at Petrusburg and take the R48 to De Aar for a relaxed quiet alternative for the N1 to Three Sisters. A moderately longer route, but very light traffic and tarred roads. Arrive safe and relaxed. En route you can see --
* Small, quiet karoo towns (Koffiefontein, Luckhoff, Petrusville, Philipstown
* The highest dam wall in the country: Van der Kloof dam at 115 metres high.
Proceed from De Aar via Britstown and N12 -- very quiet wide road -- to Three Sisters.
Treat yourself to genuine Karoo hospitality and a luxurious stay in the Dorpshuis after a long day's journey...
We boast superb services and facilities, such as bed & breakfast, private bathrooms, TV with M-Net, dinners, etc. This is a stay quite a number of our guests try to repeat on consequent journeys.
