OPTI-SOAK^® Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution

COMPOSITION:
OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution contains polyvinyl alcohol 0,75 g, hydroxyethyl cellulose 15000 0,65 g and polysorbate 60 0,005 g per 100 mL in a sterile isotonic solution with POLYQUAD™ (polyquaternium-1) 0,005% (m/v) and edetate disodium 0,10% (m/v) as preservatives.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A 34 Contact lens solutions.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution has wetting and disinfecting properties.

INDICATIONS:
OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution is indicated for use in the wetting, disinfecting and storage of rigid gas permeable and hard contact lenses.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
If you are allergic to any ingredient in OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution, do not use this product.

WARNINGS:
PROBLEMS WITH CONTACT LENSES AND LENS CARE PRODUCTS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY TO THE EYE. It is essential that you follow your eye care practitioner's directions and all labelling instructions for proper use of your lenses and lens care products. EVE PROBLEMS INCLUDING CORNEAL ULCERS, CAN DEVELOP RAPIDLY AND LEAD TO LOSS OF VISION; THEREFORE, IF YOU EXPERIENCE EYE DISCOMFORT, EXCESSIVE TEARING, VISION CHANGES, REDNESS OF THE EYE. IMMEDIATELY REMOVE YOUR LENSES AND PROMPTLY CONTACT YOUR EYE CARE PRACTITIONER

•	All contact lens wearers must see an eye care practitioner as directed.
•	Not for use with soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses.
•	Never touch the dropper tip of the container to any surface since this may contaminate the solution. Replace cap after use.
•	No finality has been reached on the long-term safety of hard contact lens preparations which are not rinsed off.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
General:

•	Always wash and rinse your hands before handling the contact lenses.
•	Always handle one lens, either the right or left, first to avoid mix-ups.
•	Clean, rinse and disinfect your lenses each time you remove them.

Clean:

•	Remove lens and clean with a daily cleaner. Rinse thoroughly.

Disinfection and Storage:

•	Place each lens in its correct chamber (section) of the lens storage case.
•	Fill the chambers with OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution, completely covering the lenses. Check to see that the lenses are completely submerged.
•	Tightly close the chambers of the lens storage case.
•	To ensure disinfection, the lenses must be stored in OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution for a minimum of 4 hours before reinsertion.
•	Place lenses onto eyes directly from the OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution or add a few drops of OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution to the lens for an extra cushioning effect.
•	After inserting your lenses, empty your lens storage case, rinse and allow to air dry.

NOTE THE OPTI-SOAK SOLUTION IN YOUR STORAGE CASE SHOULD BE CHANGED DAILY.

SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
The following problems may occur.

•	Eyes slinging, burning, or itching (irritation).
•	Excessive watering (tearing) of the eyes.
•	Unusual eye secretions.
•	Redness of the eyes.
•	Reduced sharpness of vision (visual acuity).
•	Blurred vision.
•	Sensitivity to light (photophobia).
•	Dry eyes.

If you notice any of the above problems, immediately remove and examine your lenses. If the problem stops and the lenses appear to be undamaged, thoroughly clean, rinse and disinfect the lenses and reinsert them. If the problem continues or a lens appears to be damaged, IMMEDIATELY remove your lenses and IMMEDIATELY consult your eye care practitioner. If any of the above problems occur, a serious condition such as infection, corneal ulcer, neovascularisation or iritis may be present. Seek immediate professional identification of the problem and treatment to avoid serious eye damage.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
In case of accidental ingestion, treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.

IDENTIFICATION:
Clear, colourless solution.

PRESENTATION:
OPTI-SOAK Conditioning and Disinfecting Solution is supplied in plastic bottles containing 125 mL.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store in a cool place below 25°C. Keep the container tightly closed.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
