PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
Complementary medicine - Western Herbal
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
SLENZ HERBAL MIXTURE contains a combination of extracts of the following herbs.
Centella asiatica (Gotu Kola) is used in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine as a rejuvenating herb and contains essential oils, flavonoids and flavone derivatives.
Vitis vinifera (Grape Leaf) is a source of oligomeric proanihocyanidins (OPCs). These proanihocynidins are potent antioxidants which neutralise free radicals, helping to prevent oxidative damage to cells and tissues.
Ginkgo biloba enhances blood circulation and decreases the production of free radicals due to its antioxidant properties.
Cynara scolymus (Alcachofra) has choleretic and diuretic properties and is used for the treatment of digestive disorders characterised by poor assimilation of fat due to insufficient bile secretion.
Equisetum arvense (Cavalinha) is a source of silica, a trace mineral that plays a role in the formation and maintenance of connective tissue. It also has a mild diuretic action.
Theae sinensis (Green Tea) contains flavonoids, a large group of polyphenolic compounds with antioxidant properties. The antioxidant effect may protect against oxidative damage to cells and tissue. Green tea also contains naturally occurring caffeine which exerts a diuretic effect.
