PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION STREPSILS PLUS lozenges have antibacterial and local anaesthetic properties.
INDICATIONS Symptomatic relief of a sore throat.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours. Not more than 8 lozenges to be sucked in any 24 hours. Not recommended for children under 12 years.
SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS Lignocaine may impair swallowing, and increase the risk of aspiration. Local anaesthetics should be used with caution in patients with epilepsy, impaired cardiac conduction, shock or with liver damage; patients with myasthenia gravis are particularly susceptible to the effects of local anaesthetics.
When a sore throat persists for more than two days, or is accompanied by headache, nausea or vomiting consult your doctor. If pregnant or breast feeding consult your doctor before using this product. Do not exceed the stated dose.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT Treatment is supportive and symptomatic.
