CHOATS EXTRACT OF LETTUCE

COMPOSITION:
Each 5 mL contains: 1,5 mg
Extract of Lettuce; 975,0 mg Syrup of Tolu: 674,0 mg Honey, with 2,2 % v/v ethyl alcohol.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A: 10.1 Antitussives and Expectorants

INDICATIONS:
Choats Extract of Lettuce is indicated for the alleviation of cough.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Not to be given to patients with renal impairment.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Adults: 10 mL (two medicine measurefuls) every three to four hours.
Children: 
7-12 years: 5 mL to 7,5 mL (one to one and a half medicine measurefuls) every three to four hours.
If cough persists, consult your doctor.

SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Excessive intake may cause vomiting, nausea, violent purging and slow heart rate (bradycardia) due to vagal stimulation.
The component “Extract of Lettuce”is reputed to have a mild sedative effect, hence caution should be exercised whilst driving or riding a vehicle or operating machinery during treatment.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
Vomiting, nausea, violent purging and slow heart rate (bradycardia) due to vagal stimulation. Treatment is symptomatic. Consult your doctor or nearest hospital immediately.

IDENTIFICATION:
A brown viscous liquid.

PRESENTATION:
Bottles containing 50 mL; 100 mL and 200 mL.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store in a cool (below 25°C), dark place. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
