COMPOSITION:
Each mL of TCP antiseptic contains, Chlorinated Phenols 6,0 mg; Phenol 1,75 mg; Iodinated Phenols 0,95 mg; Sodium Salicylate 0,5 mg.
PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A 13.1 Antiseptics and Cleansing agents.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
TCP Antiseptic is a disinfectant effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
INDICATIONS:
TCP Antiseptic helps destroy bacteria and germs associated with common throat and mouth infections. TCP Antiseptic by its disinfectant action on bacteria and germs helps heal cuts, grazes, wounds, insect bites and burns on the skin.
TCP Antiseptic can be used as a personal hygiene, as a vaginal douche. TCP Antiseptic can be used as a general disinfectant wherever common germs are a danger to health around the home. TCP Antiseptic fights bad breath by acting on the odour-causing bacteria present in the mouth.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
There are no known contraindications.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Adults and Children
Mouth and throat infections
Gargle thoroughly with 1 part TCP Antiseptic to 4 or 5 parts water.
Cuts, grazes, wounds, insect bites and burns
First wash the affected area, then apply 1 part TCP Antiseptic to 2 or 3 parts water to thoroughly cleanse the area. If necessary fix lightly over the affected area a gauze damped with 1 part TCP Antiseptic to 2 or 3 parts water and hold in position with an adhesive plaster. Do not use heavy bandaging as wounds heal faster when air can reach them.
Feminine hygiene
Douche with 4 tablespoons (75 mL) TCP Antiseptic to 500 mL warm water.
General household use
TCP Antiseptic can be used undiluted on drains, sinks, dustbins and with the household laundry.
Bad breath
Rinse the mouth and gargle thoroughly with 1 part TCP Antiseptic to 4 or 5 parts water.
If infection persists consult your doctor immediately.
SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
No side effects have been reported. TCP Antiseptic should not be drunk in large quantities as this may cause adverse reactions on the kidneys.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
The treatment of overdosage is supportive and symptomatic.
