Gordon, Evina
Aitken and Liz Mac Sween -Scotland,
aitkenkings@aol.com,
13/04/07 Thank you so much for a lovely four days, for your company and also for Frances who helped greatly. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our daughter, Sarah, is extremely jealous of our trip with you so I have promised her that we will bring her to see the Big Five with you. No plans can be made at present but hopefully we will be back in touch with you to arrange something for Gordon, Sarah and myself. Thank you once again. Vee Nadia Eckardt Nadia@AfricaEasy.com, 2030 Dexter Ave N #404 Seattle, WA 98109 Many thanks for the sms message letting me know our clients made it into the Apartheid Museum. (Phew – I am glad that worked out). It was a great pleasure to meet you today and we thoroughly enjoyed our morning with you and the lunch in Soweto too. Your knowledge and info is awesome. I would like very much to stay in touch and more than anything I am delighted to have experienced the Tokologo operation having sent clients through Trevor the last few years and never having experienced the product myself. I am more than comfortable to keep sending my clients through Trevor with Tokologo in the operating seat especially now that I know how you operate. Again, thanks for letting me know all worked out ok this afternoon at the Apartheid Museum. Kind regards, Nadia Jill Walker. African Pride Tours. Dear Jean & Helene, Now that you are back home in France, I am eagerly waiting to hear the feedback on your safari. I would like to hear what you thought of the various camps you stayed at. What was the game viewing like? How does it compare to your favourite country, Botswana? Regards. Jean & Helene Lallemand - France 7/03/07 Hello Jill, We have made a super travel. The guide, perfect, very interesting, humour sense and on time. The Lodges: Kings Camp and Madikwe Hills, nice people, very good food, and all the game. On Friday by example Big Five on first afternoon game drive at Kings Camp! Madikwe Hills has an incredible waterhole in front of the restaurant, elephants, kudus, impalas, lions, buffalos, sable, gnus the same day. All the transfers by road were very interesting because of Johan's comments. What a marvellous country you have. Jatinga Lodge was perfect. For us when you are in the lodges and more on game drives, there is no difference between SA and Botswana, but the big advantage of SA is the travel from France, is easier, you arrive in Johannesburg and safari begins, no Air Botswana! Thank you for your efficiency, one more time. We come back as soon as possible! Cheers Jean. 20/08/07 We have seen INCREDIBLE scenes. 4 different lions lunches, 1 hyenas breakfast, 1 leopard dinner (impala in a tree) and on monday morning for our last game drive in kings camp, 4 lions + 1 cub, digging a termite mount to catch a warthog, and they did it 5 or 6 meters in front of the rover!! Kay & Taco Proper - New York - October 2006 kandtaco@earthlink.net Arriving in Johannesburg, we met our Tokologo guide. From that point onwards he took charge, - being wonderful throughout the entire trip, always willing to help, patient, courteous, knowledgeable, fun, a fine driver and we have no complaint whatsoever. In many cases he went way beyond the call of duty - he was really terrific!! Our guide picked us up the next day and took us to the airport for our flight to Victoria Falls, he was fabulous - knew right where to go at the airport, then disappeared and returned with two wheelchairs and two porters!! Checked us in, saying he would be there upon our return. After Vic Falls we returned to Johannesburg without a hitch - Johan waiting patiently for us with our luggage, Tokologo had kept several of our bags during our visit to the Falls. The trip to the Coach House (Tzaneen) was long but uneventful. Once there we had dinner and retired to our fabulous room. In the morning we couldn't believe the view, it was awesome!! We departed and headed to Sabi Sands and the Djuma Bush Lodge. Outstanding!! We saw many, animals - elephants, rhinos, warthogs, giraffes, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, buffalos, etc. and many small night creatures. All the food in the camp was homemade, and it was the finest of our entire trip. The staff at Djuma Bush camp were all so wonderful, pleasant and so willing to help - we loved every moment of our visit. On our way to Buhala Lodge we entered Kruger Park at the Orpen Gate and drove south and exited through Malelane Gate. During the entire drive thru Kruger we spotted giraffes, zebras, and four different locations of reclining lions!! Johan came to collect us from Buhala Lodge and drove us back to Joburg. Taco and Johan never seemed to stop talking - so enjoyable and relaxing. As we came near to The Grace Johan called ahead to tell them we would be there in 5 minutes because it was raining and he wanted to make sure there would be porters with umbrellas at the entrance. The whole trip was so fabulous, so diversified and so unique - WE LOVED every second and have told everyone it was the very best trip we've ever had and we do mean this sincerely and with all our heart. Yes, we've seen the world, but nothing could ever equal this experience. YALE ALUMNI CHORUS - Power of Song Tour - South Africa July 2007 Agar Sherry It was just delightful! Thank you for being such fun, all of you. Hope we get to see you again. Allison Dr. Ron We are still on air over the great tour of your country and its progress. It is unbelievable to most Americans. Let us arrange more tours. Arscott John G Your note already conjures up wonderful memories, and so many images of the way you helped us on every note of the tremendous symphony of sounds and experiences we were privileged to be a part of through your assistance. "No sir, that's a rock" is just one of literally hundreds of memories of a wonderful tour!! Benson Terry We learned many things in South Africa. It was full and fun and I'm thinking about 2010. It's only thinking but soccer is one of my other passions and where better to see a world cup than at one end of the world? Campbel David Thank you for those lovely comments. A couple of African pieces came up on my I pod during surgery today and it is amazing to think that it was only a week ago that I was experiencing it. I have been in touch with…… to see if I can get to come back to lecture in the future as I know I want to visit again. I enjoyed meeting you and thought you all did a great job and I will be in touch if I get to come back again. Cole Stewart Congratulations to you, your organization and Classical Movements for an exceptionally well organized tour and one which was exceptionally rewarding, personally. Dealing with such a large group of highly directed singing Yalies is like, what shall I say, herding elephants? Your insights into SAfrica at this juncture in its history provided some unique perspective on problems and prospects. Collins Richard B. Thank you for your steady and diligent work to make the tour a success. Every time we needed direction or guidance, you were on the spot. When some of us became critical or cranky, you remained calm and unflappable. I would recommend your company to any visitor to South Africa. Convey Lane "We love you, Johan," voiced by our more youthful members at the final banquet, expresses how all of us felt about you and your group. Thanks for helping make it a more personal experience, because of your easy give-and-take conversational style - with lots of humor, I might add! Now we all feel like old friends! Curchack, Mark Your help, your good cheer, and your knowledge were complete central in our enjoyment and learning from the trip. I think YAC will have to search very hard to find support such as you provided. Davidson Suellen I never got a chance to really thank you either, for the extra hard work you put into the tour, and for being so helpful and friendly. The trip was all-around a wonderful experience for me; South Africa was so much more beautiful than I expected and the people were so welcoming. I will *never* forget the church service at Alexandra; thank you so much for organizing that visit. De Werff Timothy I shall always have good feelings about your warm welcome and the incredible variety of experiences our group shared. Thanks to you and all your colleagues for your professionalism and friendship. I will certainly recommend travel to South Africa to all my friends. Fay Conner & Evelyn You made such a positive impression on so many participants in the tour by the way you joined in to the spirit of the tour, your sense of humor, and your commitment to helping us understand your wonderful country. Evelyn and I are determined to come back to SA at some point in the future, and we will look forward to renewing our friendship with you. Greenberg Ed & Sue We thank you for your constant good humor, care and attention to detail during our YAC tour. Memories of our marathon three weeks fill our minds. We enjoyed meeting and traveling with you. I don't think too many people get the opportunity to see South Africa as we saw it. We feel all the better for having met and sung with so many wonderful people. We will carry memories of them with us for the rest of our lives. Sincere regards. Grow William B. You enabled me to understand the South Africa "miracle" that gave me a new perspective on how to approach the legacy of apartheid in my own city of York, Pennsylvania. I am deeply indebted to you for your honest sharing with me and will keep your story anonymous. I hope you continue to lead wonderful cultural tourism experiences and will keep in touch. Hanold David & Marion Marion and I had a wonderful visit to South Africa, thanks in large part to you and your efforts on behalf of the YAC. I went with an impression of South Africa that centered on white flight, poverty, and incredible natural beauty and resource wealth. I came home with the sense that South Africa is more like the U.S. than it is different; an ex-British colony with vast natural resources, a long history of civil war and racism, predominately Christian, believing in democracy, and a magnet for those less fortunate. Two differences, one bad and one good; the U.S. has nothing to compare to South Africa’s AIDS problem, and our least fortunate do not have the pride, hope and goodwill that I felt in South Africans. You do a great service to South Africa! Thanks! Jennings Ed & Mary Of course, the trip was absolutely wonderful. You played such a vital role in making it so. We were so impressed with your organization, work ethic, and general good nature and good cheer. We were so fortunate to have the opportunity to travel with you and we hope to keep in touch with you and meet you again in the future. Thank you for arranging St.Hubert's and Alexandra. That was quite a moving experience. With fond and good wishes. Klee Marlyn The pleasure and privilege of having you to shepherd us about was all on our side. Thank you for your professionalism and for your friendship. I will hold South Africa in my heart for the rest of my life, and wish you all the best for the future of your country. What wondrous assets you have: fine, hardworking people; stunning natural beauty; lots of mineral wealth; musical talents by the bushels (don't underestimate the Power of Song!); and HOPE for the future. Krakoff, Lawrence R. Your thoughtful and expert presence added to the joy of the tour. Best regards and success. Lamar, Margot We really appreciated your expertise and your compatibility. It was wonderful to meet you. Lovell James & Kathy Kathy and I often discussed how delightful the South African tour contacts were. Time and again, you and others went above and beyond the call of duty to make the trip special. Marlaire Sean It was great to get to travel with you. Hopefully we can repeat a version of it in 2010 for the Cup! Let me know when the tours are up on your site. Thanks for everything, Mathews Craig & Ruth Ruth and I are just back home, you played a major role in making the Power of Song tour such a success. You were unfailingly helpful, resourceful, courteous (and unflappable) while dealing with the inevitable complexities of she parding 200+ people around South Africa. Ruth especially remembers how helpful and what good company you were on the excursion to visit the ladies at Kopanang. Thanks again for the good memories. Mills Susan I think your group of guides and drivers were amazing, and it was a pleasure to travel with them. I especially enjoyed Gabriel and you for what felt like real honesty in your commentary, and for the love and passion you both seem to have for your country. Gabriel had a wonderful sense of humor, as well as a vast amount of knowledge. It was a pleasure to walk about the Gardens in Cape Town with him. When I was sick, I did appreciate you asking about me. Thank you again for everything you did for us as a group, and for me personally. It was a pleasure to work with you. O' Leary Ted Owen and I had a wonderful time and thank you for your efforts. You made the trip much more pleasant for us. My thanks to you for that. Parolisi Julianne It certainly was a pleasure having you onboard, I wish we could take you on all of our tours. Resor Griff & Pam Pam and I felt this was the best ever YAC tour. That's reaching a very high standard. Much of this was due to the hard work and great results your team produced. Your fellow citizens should be given much credit too. South Africans of all types gave us a very warm and friendly welcome. The joint benefit concerts were great fun. We certainly hope the South African experiment in democracy continues to do well. Many thanks. Schweikert Eric We had an exceptional experience with you and YAC in South Africa. The group (and your guiding) allowed us to meet people and see things we would not have felt comfortable doing as individual tourists and those really enriched the trip for us. Thanks for being part of our great vacation. Smith Chris & Sandra We owe you and your team our sincere gratitude for your terrific logistical support throughout the entire trip. This was my fourth major YAC tour. Your group really performed well. Given our size and the number of times we moved, it was amazing that all went so smoothly. We enjoyed the commentary from the guides as well. South Africa is a very interesting country. We hope that we were able to give as much as we received. Best regards. Stebbins Morgan You were THE BEST and made our trip so meaningful and fun! Bless your heart for that! All the best to you and endless thanks for all that you did for us! Weathersby Lisa D I have had, and am still having I might add, a great time in South Africa in no small part because of you and the rest of the guides and drivers. This particular trip will have a very special place in my heart above other tours that I have had the honor to go on with this group. Thanks again, particularly to you, for your wealth of information, your subtle humor, and your overall grace in dealing with the challenges of corralling such a large and diverse group. Weber Bill & Betsy The success of the Power of Song Tour was, in no small measure, a result of your interest and involvement. Thank you very much for all that you did to make this happening happen. Let's keep in touch. Willis Bill & Pauline What a great help you were in making the Power of Song Tour such a success. We felt most fortunate to have you has a guide and leader of so many activities. We will recommend you to friends who may travel to South Africa. Now that we have returned to the United States, we can reflect on what an incredible country that you live in and what wonderful, happy people live there. We recognize that eliminating the poverty that many people face in the shanty towns will take a generation or more to correct but are glad steps are being taken to help those people. We hope members of your government will focus on improving life for everyone. Thank you again for being such an asset to the Power of Song Tour and many thanks to Classical Movements for all that they did. Wittenberg Steve & Sally The tour was a unique experience for us! Without the many singing events we would not have had such a wonderful opportunity to see some native townships and interact with the people. You and your staff were cheerful and caring through thick and thin making movement from place to place a pleasure instead of a chore. Thank you for all you did, not least of which were all the information you gave us during our travels. We can not say enough good things about all of you. |
